Anastasia Mamontenko is a Ukrainian-born film director, screenwriter, and writer based in Los Angeles. Her idiosyncratic films use mysterious settings and quirky characters to explore acceptance, humanism, and existential questions.
She studied at Odesa I. I. Mechnikov National University, New York Film Academy, and London College of Communication. Her 2019 experimental film Pale People of Corruption received the best surreal film award at the Retro Avant-Garde Film Festival in Venice and was presented as a video installation at Dallas Contemporary in 2020.
Mamontenko writes and directs short narrative, experimental, and fashion films. She also publishes associative notes that extend the philosophical and visual concerns of her film work into prose.
